South African in World Rugby Classic Seventh Heaven

Classic Springboks put on an excellent display to pick up their seventh World Rugby Classic title with an impressive 45-10 triumph over Canadian Classics at the National Sports Centre last night. The South Africans, who were outstanding throughout the tournament, outscored the Canadians by seven tries to one to win their first title since 2016.

It was a proud moment for Sam Gerber, the South African captain, who finally won the popular tournament at the fifth attempt.

After four nights of pulsating action in the World Rugby Classic, an epic clash is expected when Classic Springboks and Canadian Classic clash in the World Rugby Classic final at the National Sports Centre.

Both teams have produced some brilliant rugby on their way to the final with fans anticipating a compelling climax to the competition.


Rosko Specman magic sends South Africa into World Rugby Classic final

Former South African sevens rugby star Rosko Specman put up a brilliant show to guide Classic Springboks into the final of the World Rugby Classic as they triumphed 47-16 over Classic France in the semi-final at the National Sports Centre last night.

Specman, who is playing in the Classic for the first time after winning bronze for his country at the Paris Olympics in July, scored two tries and also played a part in three of South Africa’s seven tries.


Canada Classic have a shot at winning a maiden title at the World Rugby Classic after holding off last year’s champions Argentina Legends 22-17 in an epic semi-final at the National Sports Centre last night.

Former rugby league player Blake Mahovic was the hero for Canada with two of their three tries. The Canadians, who have never won the tournament since it started in 1988, will now meet the winner of tonight’s second semi-final between South Africa and France.


Local clubs given unique chance to shine at World Rugby Classic

World Rugby Classic organisers have been applauded for their decision to include local clubs on the programme in this year’s edition.

Teachers and Renegades squared off on Sunday at the National Sports Centre, with Teachers winning 25-15 to mark the first time that Bermudian clubs have been part of the action.
